Week 1 Review – December 16, 2017

BU10

The Southdown Flyers got the season started with a 3-1 win over Harborfields Barca. Quinn Rinaldi, Jack Steinberg and Colby Konisberger scored the goals with Edwin Alfaro replying for Barca.

The Destroyers proved harder to break down and tied 0-0 with the Flyers before going one better beating Chaos 1-0 thanks to Max Bernier’s strike.

Barca thought they had got their first point after Brian Fuentes’ goal evened the score after Gale Kurland’s opener for Chaos but Gale struck again with less than ten seconds left on the clock to give Chaos the 2-1 victory.

BU12/13

CSH Vipers started their season confidently with a 5-2 win over HBC Spurs, Peter Levy and Ian Smith each scored twice. Peter was also on target in the 1-1 draw with Super Sane Smithtown. Smithtown then beat Valencia 2-1 thanks to Alex Tylar who’s two goals took his total to three for the day after his earlier goal in the 1-1 with the Vipers.

Nick Perciballi’s long range shot was enough to give Spurs a 1-0 win over HBC Revolution and Valencia also beat Revolution 1-0 when Jackson Winheim’s shot found the net.

BU11

Celtic were one of only two teams on the opening weekend to win both of their games! Grant Kurland’s double helped them to a 4-2 win over the CSH Outlaws and Tyler Leiberman scored twice in the 4-0 defeat of HBC Juventus.

The Outlaws bounced back with a strong second half performance against Liverpool. Two Lennon Harrington goals gave Liverpool a 2-1 half time lead but a hat trick by Zach Schnitzer added to Luca Mazzilli’s goal and secured a 4-2 win for the Outlaws.

HBC Juventus took the lead against the Sounders through Jordan Rivera’s goal but the Sounders turned it around and two Nate Vorhees goals and one by Carter Hendricksen saw them take the points with a 3-1 win. The Sounders started well against Liverpool and led 2-1 at the half but Liverpool rallied and eventually came out on top, Lennon Harington scored five times and Preston Podlas once in the 6-2 victory.

BU9

Harborfields Bulls and HBC Chelsea got the BU9 division underway. Giancarlos Bracaero gave Chelsea the lead but Jake Larocco evened it up for the Bulls in an entertaining 1-1 tie.

Elijah Prywes scored a hat trick as Ajax beat the Bulls 4-0 but they couldn’t make it two wins as the Harborfileds Bears beat them 2-1 thanks to strikes by Luke Larocco and Joey Serventi.

Chase Podlas struck twice to help Chelsea get their first win of the season as they saw off the Bears 4-1.

GU12/13

CSH Wrecking Balls got off to a flying start with a 5-0 victory over the HBC Mighty Tigers, Amanda Paci scored twice in the convincing win. The Wrecking Balls then played the SH Herricanes who took a first half lead through Kathleen O’Hara’s goal. Emmy Evans’ shot tied it up in the second half for CSH and the points were shared, 1-1.

The Mighty Tigers recovered well and goals by Brooke Cheskes and Sophia Winger gave them a 2-1 win over the Legends. The Legends then shared six goals with the Herricanes. In an exciting encounter Kailyn McKay scored twice for the Legends but Britney Cisneros went one better and scored a hat trick for SH and it finished 3-3.

BU13/14

Bryan Lizama’s two goals helped Arsenal to a 3-1 win over Benfica in the division’s opening game. Jack Jimenez then gave Arsenal a 1-0 half time lead in their second game against Levittown Green but second half strikes by Nick Dryprowsky and Max Bloess saw Levittown gain the advantage. Ryan Schiff’s late goal tied it up for Arsenal and the points were shared, 2-2.

Huntington United took an early lead over Benfica and never looked back, Nick Campanelli scored a hat trick and Dylan Thody added two in the 6-0 victory. Levittown White proved a tougher opposition for United and two Gabe Alvarado goals and a third by Kyle Harrington gave Levittown the 3-0 win.

Matt Mazzilli’s close range shot gave Chelsea FC a 1-0 half time lead over Levittown Green and a second half goal by Lennon Harrington made sure Chelsea got the points, 2-0 the final score.

Levittown White then played Chelsea and finally broke down a resolute Chelsea defense when Kyle Harrington scored late on to win it 1-0 for the Whites.

BU15

Smithtown EMK got the first points of the season in the BU15 division beating the Outlaws White 2-0, Noah Rosenblatt and Tyler Aubrey scored the goals. The Vikingos also beat the Outlaws White to record their first win of the season, Alan Calderon was on target twice in the 4-0 triumph.

Two Carmine Pittelli goals and one by Thomas Pitvik gave the Outlaws Green a 3-0 lead over Smithtown. Trevor Hubbard pulled one back but it wasn’t enough and the Impressive Outlaws held on to win 3-1.

The Vikingos and Whitman FC played an entertaining game and despite chances for both sides they were unable to break the deadlock and it ended 0-0. Another clean sheet for Whitman saw them take the points against the Outlaws Green, Arnold Aguilero scored the only goal of the game.

BU18

Bana UO opened their season with a 3-1 win over H Footy. Jake Moisanu, Evan Barnes and Mike Barefield were on target with Chris Callan replying for H Footy. Swaz Tekkers FC also inflicted a defeat on H Footy as Josh Yannuck and Will Nasta found the net in a 2-0 victory.

One Pound Fish, renowned for their creative goal celebrations, had two to celebrate in the first half against Bana UO. Ethan Kraus and Adam Debus strikes gave them a two goal cushion before Justin Minerva’s second half goal for Bana reduced the arrears. It made for an exciting finish but Fish held on for the 2-1 win. Swaz Tekkers and Fish then played a highly entertaining game that swung both ways, Will Nasta was again on target and Josh Yannuck twice for the Tekkers but Alex Triolo, James Cameron and Danny Zihal all scored for Fish making it a 3-3 game.
