BU8/9

The Boys U8/9 division got the 17th Coindre Hall Indoor season underway with HBC Everton recording a 4-1 victory over the HBC Spurs. Anthony Labombada scored the opening goal of the winter season for Everton followed by a hat trick by Gianluca Mercuri.  Spurs’ Shane Longin also scored a hat trick as Spurs recovered to beat YMCA Blue by a score of 6-1. Justin Gennat became the third player of the day to hit three goals as Milan beat Everton 6-0. He followed that with the winning goal in a close game against HBC City, his early strike proved to be the only goal of an exciting game. HBC City won their second game 1-0 over the Chargers, Matthew Mejia’s second half strike proving decisive. The Chargers and YMCA Blue couldn’t break the deadlock as their game ended 0-0. Both teams had chances but were unable to take them as they shared the points.

BU9

HBC Liverpool started the season with two victories in the BU9 division. Max Futter and Gavin Wisotsky each had two goals on the day as they beat the Lions 2-0 then Arsenal 3-1 City FC came back from one down at half time to beat the Lions 2-1. Drew Haugan equalized with minutes remaining then a last gasp free kick by Leo Palumbo secured the win.  The Annoying Oranges also went two for two beating City FC 5-1 then Arsenal 4-0. Ian Husselbeck scored twice against City and Enzo Pupillo netted a hat trick against Arsenal to put them level on points with HBC Liverpool.

BU11/12

Uniondale Vikings and SH Sharpshooters both have maximum points after the opening week’s games in the BU11/12 division. Allan Calderon scored a hat trick in each game for the Vikings as they beat Elwood Wolves 5-0 then the Mean Greens 3-1. Warren Sanger was also on target twice against Elwood. The Sharpshooters won both of their games 2-0. Joey Halfer and Vincent Santoiemma found the net against the Wasabi’s then Chris O’Connor and Jonathan Solar made sure of victory against the Mean Greens. The other game saw Owen Husselbeck score the Wasabi’s only two goals of the day as they beat the Elwood Wolves 2-0. With the Uniondale Pitbulls joining the league this week it looks like being a very competitive division.

GU9/10

An Annie Gruhn hat trick and two goals by Mia Freire set the Dynamite on their way to a comfortable 6-0 win over the Harborfields Cyclones in the GU9/10 division. The Dynamite found the going tougher against the Syosset Cosmos in their next game with both teams going close on numerous occasions without being able to find the net, 0-0 the final score.  The Syosset Lady Gunners raced into a 4-0 half time lead against Harborfields Cyclones. They added two more in second half, Sloan Soifer scored a hat trick and Samantha Goldberg added two in the 6-0 victory. CSH Crushers look like the team to beat as they recorded two 6-0 wins over the Lady Gunners then the Cosmos. Logan Vitagliano top scored with five goals, Kailey Rappel had two.

BU13/14

A Sean Smith hat trick helped the SH Hammers Red defeat the SH Sharpshooters 4-1 in the opening game in the BU13/14 division. The Hammers Red were soon back in action against HBC Sting and a close first half ended 1-1. An end to end second half saw the Sting take the points in a 3-2 victory, Jordan McCoy, Eren Aydin and Johnny Tucker with the goals for the Sting, Sean Smith and Aidan Smith for the Hammers .  The Sharpshooters then beat the Harborfields Brotherhood by a score of 1-0. The Sharpshooters survived a second half onslaught by the Brotherhood but held on for the victory, Matt Calandra’s first half goal being the difference between the teams. HBC Sting made it two wins out of two with a 2-1 triumph over Hammers White. Eren Aydin opened the scoring for the Sting but Timmy Matadeo brought the Hammers White level before half time. Jordan McCoy got the winner after the break for the Sting to give them maximum points. The Hammers White bounced back to win the next game with Timmy Matadeo scoring a hat trick in the 5-2 victory over Harborfields Brotherhood.

BU18

The competition was fierce in the BU18 bracket as the Money Team took on ManChesthair United. Despite all the action neither team could find the net in a fast paced first half. Nick Tonks opened the scoring in the opening seconds after the beak with a well taken strike to the corner to give the Money team the lead and ultimately the win, that goal proving to be the only one of a tight game. The Money Team followed up with a second victory, this time 6-3 over HBC Juventus. Nick Tonks and Wilson Martinez both scoring twice.  Juventus started strongly against ManChesthair United and led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Kyle Lynch goal. Kyle doubled the lead in the second half before United hit back with a strike by Mike Terracciano. With less than two minutes to go Christian McGeough completed the United comeback making the final score 2-2.
