Week 6 Review – January 28

WEEKLY REVIEW    WEEK 6

BU10/11

Man City got week 6 underway with a convincing win over the Crushers. Matt Bender and Jhordan Moreira each scored twice in the 7-1 victory.
Matt Bender then scored a hat trick for City in their game against the CSH Vipers but Dylan Hayden went one better scoring four times to give the Vipers the points in the 4-3 win.
There were plenty of goals between the Crushers and Liverpool. David Delcid scored four times and Thomas Carluccio twice in the 9-4 victory. The goals dried up in Liverpool’s next game but they managed to hold on to get another two points beating Valencia 1-0, Lennon Harrington’s first half strike proving decisive.
The Vipers remain at the top of the table after beating Harborfields Spurs. Dante Salgado gave the Vipers a first half lead and Peter Leavy added another after the break to make it 2-0.
Carter Veitch scored a hat trick as the Spurs bounced back to beat the Destroyers 4-0 and two Zach Kaufman goals helped Valencia beat the Destroyers by the same scoreline in the divisions final game of the day.

BU13

David Lazaro was on target twice for Spurs in their game against Everton but a hat trick by Ryan Keegan and two goals by Aidan Brancaccio gave Everton the 5-2 victory .
Benfica proved to be a tougher opponent for Everton and two Colin Phelan goals helped them on their way to a 4-0 win.
Huntington United then brought Benfica back down to earth beating them 5-0, Jack Noble scored twice for United.
Peter Kellorakos also found the net twice as Chelsea recorded a comfortable 7-1 victory over Spurs.
Chelsea’s next game saw Liam Harrington open the scoring against Auburndale Academy but Jon Turcios leveled for Auburndale soon after half time. Peter Kellerakos then scored a hat trick in the final five minutes to give Chelsea the 4-1 win.
Ben D’Agostino was on target for Huntington United against the Ambush but two strikes by Julio Martinez and one from Harrison Krywak turned the game around for the Ambush who won 3-1.
Auburndale overcame the Ambush in the final game of the day after Jon Turcios scored twice and Bobby Costa once in the 3-0 win.

BU9

Frankie Algieri and Colin Lennon both scored twice for the Outlaws as they eased past Milan 7-1 in the Opening BU9 game.
An entertaining match between Lazio and the Outlaws saw Matt Benevides give Lazio a 1-0 half time lead. Frankie Algieri equalized from close range for the Outlaws setting up a frantic finale that saw Josue Garcia fire in a late winner for Lazio handing the Outlaws their first loss of the season.
Marcus D’Gregario scored two early goals for Milan as they raced into a 4-0 half time lead against the Southdown Flyers. Michael Nicolino was also on target twice and Pavel Slivchenko once in the 5-1 victory.

Matt Benevides was another player to score two goals as Lazio completed a good day beating the Flyers 4-0.

GU10/11

The Cheetahs are still looking for that elusive first win of the season. They came close against Northport Extreme in the opening game of the girls division but both teams had to settle for a point as the game finished goalless.
Emmy Evans scored twice for the CSH Wrecking Balls as they beat the Cheetahs 2-0. They followed that with a second 2-0 victory, this time over the CSH Jaguars. Emmy was again on target with Megan McPharlin adding the second.
Marley Joseph’s second half goal proved to be the only one of the game as the Jaguars held on for the 1-0 win against the Extreme in another competitive match.

BU14/15

Finley opened up with a 6-0 win over Auburndale in the BU14/15 division, Alex Martinez boosted his Golden Boot chances by scoring four times and Owen Husselbeck added the other two.
Outlaws White came out on top in their game against Auburndale. Patrick Ahearne, Thomas Pitvic, Mikey Turner and Andreas Seferian scored the goals in the 4-1 victory, Eamonn Jensen replied for Auburndale.
The game of the day was Finley v Uniondale Vikingos. Both teams displayed quality in a competitive match that saw the defenses in fine form. Dan Fransiscovich made some important late saves in the Finley goal as they became the first team so far this season to stop the Vikingos from taking maximum points, 0-0 the final score.
Anthony Restivo and Chris Roberts each scored twice as the Outlaws Green beat the Outlaws White 5-1 before the Vikingos got back to winning ways with a hard fought 4-1 victory over the Outlaws Green. Two goals by Adrian Astudillo in the first half were followed by two from Alex Cardenas in the second.

BU17/18

Friday night saw the BU17/18 team make the games up that were snowed out in week 3.

Chaos continued their good form with a 4-2 win over H Footy but were held by a resurgent One Pound Fish. Carmine D’Ieso found the net twice against the Sting and Mike Hall gave them a 1-0 half time lead in their game with One Pound Fish. James Cameron’s volley found the top corner in the second half to tie it up for the Fish team and it ended 1-1.

Eren Aydin and Johnny Tucker both scored twice as the Sting beat H Footy 7-2 and Austin Borina scored both goals as Northport Explosion beat One Pound Fish 2-0

H Footy bounced back and a Ben Petito goal was enough to give them an impressive 1-0 victory over the Explosion.

Saturday’s first game was an entertaining game between the leaders Chaos and H Footy. Brian Contreras opened the scoring for Chaos but Chris Callan evened it up for H Footy before half time. Chaos finished the stronger team but couldn’t find a way through a resolute H Footy defense and it ended all square at 1-1.

One Pound Fish took a while to get going and found themselves a goal behind in the first half against H Footy. An improved second half display saw Ethan Kraus score twice for the ‘Fish’ who held on for the 2-1 win.

Chaos led Northport Explosion 4-0 thanks to Nick Thompson and Doug Kelapire who each scored twice before the Explosion’s Austin Borina pulled two back making the final score 4-2.

Ethan Kraus scored another two goals as One Pound Fish won their second game beating the Sting in another interesting encounter. Eren Aydin had equalized for the Sting as the ‘Fish’ were still celebrating their first goal!  It seemed to terminate their mood for a while but after James Cameron had directed the ball into the goal to give ‘Fish’ a two goal lead late in the game it left the Sting with a titanic task and ultimately the ‘Fish’ held on comfortably for the 3-1 victory.

The final game of the day turned into a goal fest as Northport put nine past the Sting. Austin Borina, Jack Wetzel and Oman Ramirez all scored twice but the Sting rallied late and Eren Aydin netted another two goals to take himself clear in the Golden Boot table, 9-6 the final score in favor of the Explosion.
