Week 7 Review – February 4, 2017

BU10/11
Man City and Harborfields Spurs battled for a play off place in the opening game of the day. Otto Umana struck first for Spurs and they went into half time leading 1-0. Josh Bakar leveled for Man City in the first minute of the second half and Grant Kurland gave them a 2-1 lead shortly after. City held on in a tense finish to win 2-1.
Caiden Veitch gave Spurs the lead against Valencia who were also looking to book their place in the play-offs. Second half goals by Zach Kaufman and Christian Alvizures turned the game around for Valencia and they head into the play offs after the 2-1 victory.
Grant Kurland was on target four times as Man City beat the Destroyers 7-1 and Cristian Alvizures found the net twice as Valencia won their second game 3-1 over the Crushers.
Liverpool beat the Destroyers 5-1 but went down 2-1 to the CSH Vipers who also beat the Crushers 5-1 to secure a first place finish. Connor Mitchell and Dylan Hayden each scored twice for the Vipers in their win over the Crushers.
Next weeks play off see the Vipers play Man City and Liverpool take on Valencia.

BU13
Chelsea needed one point to make sure of a first place finish and opened up with a game against Huntington United. Jack Jimenez’s opening goal for Chelsea was canceled out by United’s Ben D’Agostino  but Jonathan Shank scored from close range to give Chelsea their second lead. Despite plenty of pressure United were unable to find an equalizer and Chelsea hung on for the 2-1 win.
Nick Campanelli and Jack O’Brien were then on target for United as they held on to beat Auburndale 2-1 in an entertaining game.
Auburndale bounced back and beat Benfica 5-0, Eamonn Jensen and Brian Zamora each scored twice.
Jack Morales and Peter Kellorakos scored for Chelsea as they beat Everton 2-1 in another tight game before Spurs and Everton shared six goals in an exciting 3-3 tie.
The Ambush finished in second place winning their final two games of the regular season. Charlie Giramonti scored twice in the 4-1 win over Benfica and Liam Lennon struck twice in the 6-0 victory against Spurs.
Next week’s play offs will see Chelsea play Huntington United and the Ambush play Auburndale.

BU9
Matthew Benevides gave Lazio an early lead over the Outlaws but Michael Brandine tied it up before half time. An end to end second half saw Lazio eventually come out on top 3-1 as Byron Araujo scored and Matt Benevides struck his second of the game.
Byron, Matt and Josue Garcia then scored two each as Lazio beat the Southdown Flyers 9-4. Jack Steinberg also netted twice for the Flyers who played an excellent second half.
Colin Lennon hit a hat trick for the Outlaws as they eased past Milan 5-0 and AJ Bentsen was on target twice as Milan recovered to beat the Flyers 4-0.

GU14/15
Kayleigh Howard scored both goals for Northport Extreme as they opened week 7 with a 2-1 victory over the CSH Wrecking Balls. Kayleigh was the match winner again as she scored the only goal of the game against the Cheetahs as Northport made it two wins out of two.
Amanda Paci and Stella Quilty both scored twice as the Wrecking Balls beat the CSH Jaguars 5-1 and Hailey Martin was the hero for the Cheetahs as her goal proved to be the winner against the Jaguars. The 1-0 victory being their first of the season.

BU14/15
Jon Turcios and Dillon Guladec put Auburndale 2-0 ahead in their game against Outlaws White but second half goals by Ian Kaisch and Tanyue Jin brought the Outlaws level and it ended all square at 2-2. Dillon was on target twice shortly after as Auburndale the played the Outlaws Green. James Fabrikant also scored as Auburndale held on for a 3-2 victory, Dan Costello netted both goals for the Outlaws.
Jason Hernandez and Adrian Astudillo were the scorers as Uniondale Vikingos came out on top 2-0 over Finley and Raul Sanchez scored a hat trick in the Vikingos 5-2 triumph over Auburndale.
Julio Martinez was another player to hit three goals as Finley beat Auburndale 6-1.

BU17/18
Carlos Godoy scored twice for H Footy but it wasn’t enough as they went down 6-4 against Chaos. Matteo Alzate hit a hat trick for Chaos who then beat One Pound Fish 5-1.
Erin Aydin, Chris Wright, John Baccardo and Luke Lucknow all scored as the Sting beat H Footy 4-1 but they went down 3-1 to Northport Explosion, Will Regensberger scored twice and Ian McDougal once for Northport.
One Pound Fish finished strongly and claimed a 3-0 victory over Northport in the day’s final game. James Cameron, Nikolai Mazut and Adam Debus all found the net in a convincing win.
