Week 7 Review – Feb 1st and Feb 2nd

BU12/13

Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season going down 4-2 to Celtic. Jonathan Morales opened the scoring for Celtic and a Grant Kurland hat trick wrapped it up.

Valencia also beat Liverpool thanks to two second half goals by Aidan Krollage, Yovanni Rivera was also on target in the 3-2 victory.

A Thomas Carluccio hat trick helped Celtic on their way to another win, this time over 4-2 Northport Sounders. Matt Horyczun scored twice for the Sounders.

Valencia then made it two out of two with a 5-1 win over CSH Spartans. Jackson Winheim scored twice with Kris Campos, Cristian Alvizures and Yovanni Rivera adding one each.

The Spartans recovered and won a tight game against Northport. Jorge Reyes, John Adams found the net and a CSH own goal completed the scoring.

In  next week’s offs Liverpool will play CSH and Celtic take on Valencia.

BU10/11

Southdown Flyers won the division’s opening game beating CSH Tornados 4-0. Jack Steinberg scored twice, Owen Gordon and Gavin Monge were also on target.

HBC Milan and the Tornados then shared the points in a competitive game that ended 1-1. Spencer James gave the Tornados a first half lead but Aaron Liberman tied it up for Milan after the break.

The two teams competing for first place then played and not surprisingly it was another close game. Southdown Flyers took the lead in the first half thanks to a Logan Bloom goal but Yohann Guerrier evened it up for Kings Park United after the break and it finished 1-1. The draw was enough to give the Flyers the first place finish going into next weeks play offs.

Milan had a comfortable victory over Ajax, Noah Reinstein hit a hat trick in the 6-0 win. Aaron Liberman also scored twice with Jayden Castro adding the sixth.

King Park United also hit six in their game against the Destoyers. Yohann Guerrier was on target four times in the 6-2 victory.

Grant Kurland was another player to score four goals in a game but it wasn’t enough for Ajax as they went down 5-4 in an exciting game against the Destoyers. Owen Lakhani struck twice and Jesse Giavacco & Max Bernier once before Ben Gutleber hit the winner with only two minutes remaining.

The Flyers will play Milan in the play offs while Kings Park play the Tornados.

GU11/12

Gale Kurland scored a hat trick for Chaos in their 6-1 victory over the Power. Gale went one better in the next game scoring four times in the second half as Chaos wore down the HBC Lady Vikings to win 5-0 after a goalless first half.

The Power bounced back to beat CSH Orange Crush, Ashley Austin scored twice and Amanda Burrack once in the 3-1 win.

South Huntington Wave and the HBC Lady Vikings were looking to book their place in next weeks play offs but neither team could find the net and an end to end game finished all square at 0-0.

CSH Orange Crush and SH Wave played the division’s final game with both teams needing to win to guarantee themselves a place in the play offs.

South Huntington struck first when Christina Saitzyk’s shot found the net but the Crush were soon level then ahead 2-1 after Sierra Riepe scored twice before half time. Leighton Evans extended the Crush’s lead after the break and they held on for the 3-1 victory.

Next week’s play offs will see Chaos take on The Orange Crush and Power play the Lady Vikings.

BU9

Noah Halal scored a goal in each half for HBC Cosmos as they made sure of a place off place with a 2-0 win over Port United.

Harborfields Green then secured a top two finish beating the HBC Cosmos with three second half goals. Liam Bayne scored twice and Owen Guddemi once in the 3-0 win.

Juventus just needed two points to finish top of the division and four second half goals against Port United was enough to see them achieve their goal. Zach Smith broke the deadlock shortly after half time and goals by Henry Sweeney, who’s volley was the goal of the game, then Atturri Landau and Brendan O’Connor saw them win 4-0.

A Liam Bayne hat trick and a goal by Owen Guddemi saw the Harborfields Greens beat the Whites 4-2 before the Whites and Juventus split the points in the division’s final game. Joey Serventi gave the Whites a 1-0 half time lead but Antonio Laudicina replied for Juve and it ended 1-1.

The two Harborfields teams meet again next week in the plays with Juventus taking on the Cosmos.

BU14/15

Ben Koch struck five times in Huntington United’s 6-0 victory over HBC City. United followed it up with another 6-0 win, Dylan Thody hitting a hat trick to make sure United finished in first place on the standings.

Ryan Keegan scored the only goal of a competitive first half between HBC City and Arsenal to give City the advantage. Nick LaCapra added a second for City after the break and they held in for an impressive 2-0 victory.

Smithtown SS Rebound had a chance of making the play offs but needed maximum points from both of their week 7 games. Top scorer Alex Tylar gave them a first half lead over Benfica but a late Jack Steel goal tied it up for Benfica and it ended 1-1. Alex was also on target twice in Smithtwn’s 5-0 victory over Brentwood Tigers but the other results meant they missed out on a play off spot.

Arsenal just needed a draw against HBC Revolution to finish in third place but a two goal victory for the Revolution would have meant they jumped into third spot.

A tense first half ended goalies but mid way through the second half Jason Kaiser scored from close range to give Arsenal the lead and further goals by Andrew Stanco and a penalty kick by Davis Lazaro saw Arsenal win 3-0.

Revolution beat CSH Vipers 4-0 to make sure of fourth place, Logan Day scored twice, Aidan Richter and Thomas Kaler once.

Chelsea finished with two convincing wins over Brentwood Tigers and CSH Vipers. Chris Thorsen hit a hat trick and Liam Harrington added two in the 6-0 win over the Tigers, Liam, Chris and Ian Franklin then scored twice each in the 8-2 win against the Vipers. Ian Smith replied twice for the Vipers.

Next week’s plays see Huntington United play the Revolution then Arsenal play Chelsea.

BU16

The HBC Outlaws had a good day winning both of their week 7 encounters. Chris Roberts scored twice in the first half against the Vikingos and a second half goal by Dan Costello gave them an impressive 3-0 victory. Two more goals from Dan in their next game saw them beat Brentwood 2-0.

The Uniondale Vikingos and Whitman FC played a fast and physical game that ended 2-1 in the favor of the Vikingos.

Raul Sanchez gave them a first half lead but Seb Koch tied it up before half time. Warren Sanger then struck early in the second half and it proved enough to win the the game also giving the Vikingos a first place finish courtesy of a better head to head record. 

Smithtown EMK beat Brentwood 1-0 in a tight match, Nate Shin’s goal was the difference between the two teams.

That left Smithtown needing a point to guarantee first place in their final game against Whitman FC but a Seb Koch hat trick saw Whitman win it 3-0.

With Smithtown and the Vikingos tied at the top with 21 points each it came down to the best head to head record between the two teams. With one victory each and one tie it then went to the best record against the next highest placed team which was Whitman. That record saw the  Vikingos take the top spot and they will play the Outlaws next week. The other semi final sees Whitman FC play Smithtown EMK.

BU18

A Nick VanDeuson hat trick in the first half was enough to see the Banterous Brothers win an entertaining game against Knockers FC 3-2.

The Brothers played well in their second game but went down 3-1 to Pollos FC, Eren Aydin scored twice and Cameron Entwhistle once in the win.

Pollos were already guaranteed a first placed finish but wrapped up the regular season with an 8-3 victory over a depleted Uncrustables, Carlos Godoy and Eren Aydin both both hit hat tricks.

Austin Debus and Vinnie Alfiero each netted twice in Miso Hungry’s 5-5 tie with Knockers FC. Vinnie was also on target twice in Miso’s 7-4 win over Toft United.

Alex Rivera scored a hat trick for Don Tomas FC but Matt Shilsky replied with a hat trick for Toft United as both teams shared the points in a 6-6 draw in the division’s final game.

Next week’s plays will see Pollos FC take on Banterous Brothers then Miso Hungry play Don Tomas FC.
