Week 4 Review

REVIEW WEEK 4……………

Girls U8

The Bulls and Massapequa Xtreme played an exciting game with the Xtreme looking to get the victory that would take them level on points at the top with the Bulls. In an attacking first half both teams had chances but were unable to break the deadlock. The last game between these two teams produced thirteen goals but this was a much tighter contest with first place on the line. The second half was much like the first with both teams creating opportunities but finding the ‘keepers on top form. Surprisingly the match ended goalless meaning the Bulls stay three points clear at the top.

Dix Hills Peanutbutters found their scoring touch putting six past HBC 3G. Samantha Goldberg scored four times with Andi Rollo adding two in the 6-1 victory, Nia Baker replied for 3G.

Boys U7

Luke Copland was the hero for HBC Inter, his hat trick giving Inter a 4-2 win over HBC City. Steven Sillipo got City back in the game with two goals but a fourth from Liam Harrington ended their comeback.

Gavin Wisotsky gave the Blue Dragons the lead over Elwood Star but two Finn McCloskey strikes sent the Stars into half time with a 2-1 lead. Gavin Wisotsky tied it up for the Dragons with his second before two late goals by Tommy Hyland and Bryce Lanton secured the points for the Dragons in a 4-2 win.

Boys U8

The Annoying Oranges took an early two goal lead against the HBC Wildcats but goals from Jason Garbut, Travis Aqualino and Chris Thorson turned the game around to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead. Andrew Pinzone rescued a point for the Oranges with a fine individual goal in the dying seconds of the game, 3-3 the final.

Dix Hills Thunder had a good day beating Kings Park Arsenal , Jeffrey Wilson and Ian Alper were on target twice for the Thunder in their 6-1 victory.

Syosset Red played an excellent game against the league leaders, the Dix Hills Dynamite. They led 1-0 at the half thanks to a James Guiffre goal and went 2-0 up not long after the break when Jack Henick fired home. The Dynamite came to life in the final fifteen minutes and a Tyler Glassberg hat trick gave them a 3-2 lead, Spencer Hirsch and Daniel Doerrie added goals late on to make the final score 5-2.

Two Nico Corea goals gave HBC Arsenal a victory over Syosset White. He opened the scoring in the first half but James Guiffre equalized for the whites before half time. In a tight second half Nico’s long range shot found the corner to give the Arsenal the three points.

Boys U9

HBC Kings stayed level on points at the top with a 4-1 win over the HBC Attack. Dylan Thody and Mikey Piraino scored in the first half to give them a 2-1 lead, Luke Poole replying for the Attack. Joseph

Caladrino and Benjamin Blumberg each scored for the Kings in the second half to make sure of the three points.

Gabby Martinez was on target twice for the HBC Elite but it wasn’t enough to beat the HBC Spurs. Owen Husselbeck scored three, James Philippes two and and Enzo Pupillo one in the 6-3 victory. Tori Walker added a consolation goal for the Elite in an entertaining game.

Boys U10

Hempstead EOC Lions were 3-1 up late in the game against Inter Soccer Academy, two of the goals coming from Milton Gonzalez. Inter got back in the game with late goals from Michael Reyes to make it a 3-3 final.

Elwood won their second consecutive game with a convincing 5-1 result over the HBC Wasabi. Jack Fanagan and Jimmy Rourke each scoring twice.

Boys U11

Brentwood got their second win of the season with a 5-0 win over CSH Arsenal, William Garcia and Jeffrey Ayala both scored twice in a dominant first half.

Uniondale Hawks took the lead over HBC Wolverines with a goal by Darri Morales. HBC Hit back with first half goals by Johnny Guerrera and a Tavion Baker header to lead 2-1. In the second half an excellent strike by the Hawks’Miran Padillas leveled the score at 2-2 but Ryan Szabo regained the lead for HBC and Jason Garay wrapped up the points with a fourth to make it 4-2 to HBC to leave both teams tied at the top on nine points.

Girls U11

The two South Huntington teams played a high scoring and entertaining match with the Falcons coming out on top over the Cyclone 9-4. Mariah Boyle Boyle had four goals for the Falcons, Alexa Brunetti and Jessica Boyle had two each. Kristen Finnerty was on target twice for the Cyclones.Ashley Hernandez , Lesly Rivas and Jennifer Cantonia all score for the Uniondale Gaselas but it wasn’t enough as the girls from Inter won 6-3. Maggaly Rivera had a hat trick, Natalie Cordoba and Jackie Salgado had one each. An own goal by the Gaselas completed the scoring.

Boys U12

Inter Soccer Academy and Hempstead EOC Leopards played a competitive game in the boys U12 division. Brandon Yanez was on target in the first half to give Inter a 1-0 lead at the break. Enzo Vergara, Paul Montiel and Brandon Yanez, with his second, all found the net in an exciting second half. John Padilla and Justin Wright replied for the Leopards but Inter came out on top 4-2.

League leaders Uniondale Leones raced into a 5-1 half time lead over the Commack Allstars, Thajee Zaid added four goals to his total for the season. The Allstars made a brave recovery in the second half with Liam Rothar scoring a hat trick. Yordi Cruz hit the net twice for the Leones who ended up winning 8-5.

Girls U12

Logan Ward scored two in the first half and completed her hat trick with a long range strike in the second half as the NHP Firecats maintained their 100% record with a 5-0 over the South Huntington Falcons.

Middle Country Xplosion had a good week with two victories. They beat the South Huntington Falcons 5- 0 and Hauppauge Explosion 5-3, Alyssa Muszak on target four times over the two games. Hauppauge’s McKenzie Underdown took her total to five goals for the season with two in the 5-3 defeat to the Xplosion.

Boys U14
