Week 5 Review

WEEK 5 REVIEW……

Girls U8

HBC 3G and Massapequa Xtreme shared eleven goals in the first GU8 game of the week. Nia Baker scored four times for HBC with Felicity Johnson also on target. An Alexander Coloma hat trick (that took her to the top of the Golden Boot table) and goals by Kaitlyn Taylor and Lulu Cardello for the Xtreme tied the game up at 5-5 and it looked like ending that way until Kaitlyn Taylor’s last gasp goal gave them the 6-5 victory in a thrilling encounter!

The Bulls stayed in first place with a 5-0 win over the Dix Hills Peanutbutters. Summer Potvin scored twice in a comfortable victory with Gillian Barresi, Gianna Bartlett and Camille Prasad also on the score sheet.

Boys U7

Elwood Stars and HBC City shared the points in an evenly matched game. David McCalla opened the scoring for Elwood but Chastain Cassidy’s volley tied it up for City, 1-1 the final score.

Another close game saw HBC Inter beat the Blue Dragons 2-1. Steven Sillipo gave Inter the lead but Gavin Wisotsky equalized for the Dragons. Golden Boot leader Luke Copland got the winner for Inter in the second half with a clinical finish inside the box.

Boys U8

Andrew Pinzone scored five times for the Annoying Oranges but still ended up on the losing team! Four goals by Jack Hennick, two by Zack McPhee and one by Noah Frankel gave Syosset White the three points in a 7-5 triumph, definitely an open and attacking match!

Syosset Red also secured three points beating Kings Park Arsenal 4-1. Benji Blair and James Guiffre each scored twice for the Reds, MJ Smith had Kings Park’s only goal.

There were plenty of goals in the other two games also with HBC Arsenal coming out on top 7-3 over the HBC Wildcats. Nico Corea scored a hat trick, Geral Cortez scored twice and Nick Induisi and Sean Kozodoy added one each. Goals for the Wildcats by Nicholas Campanelli, Jason Garbut and Michael Elmo made it an exciting and close second half.

Tyler Glassberg was the second U8 player this week to hit the net five times in a game. His five and one each by A.J. Nambiar and Jack Zaremsky were enough to see the Dix Hills Dynamite maintain their 100% record with one week to go. Dix Hills Thunder’s Jeffrey Wilson scored two late goals making the final score 7-2.

Boys U9

Dean Raschizada, Adam Tabizada and Jack O’Brien all scored twice as the HBC Attack won for the second time this season. HBC Spurs found themselves 5-1 down at the half and never recovered, 6-1 to the Attack the final score.

The HBC Kings remain top but were made to work hard for victory by the HBC Elite. Gabby Martinez gave the Elite an early lead but Benjamin Blumberg equalized for the Kings before half time. The Elite had their chances in an end to end second half but a late Dylan Thody goal finally got the points for the Kings to keep them three points clear at the top.

Boys U10

Elwood’s two game winning streak came to an end as they lost to Inter 5-0. Eric Castro was on target twice during an impressive Inter performance.

Hempstead EOC Leopards also won 5-0 in their game against HBC Wasabi. Milton Gonzalez moved to the top of the Golden Boot table with two of the goals. The Leopards just have to win their final game next week to be the league winners.

Boys U11

HBC Wolverines struck early in their game against CSH Arsenal. Two Nick Mazza goals and one each by Jason Garay, Christian Harty and Nick Villani gave them a 5-0 victory, all the goals coming in the first half.

A tight first half ended scoreless between Brentwood AC Milan and Uniondale Hawks. Andy Blanco changed the game in the second half with a hat trick for the Hawks. Austin Reeve score for Brentwood but it wasn’t enough as the Hawks won 3-1 to stay joint top with the Wolverines.

Boys U12

Leon Rothar was on target again for the Commack Allstars but one goal was all they could manage against the on-form Hempstead EOC Leopards. Edwin Castellon and Darli Baquerano each found the net twice for the Leopards as they won 6-1.

Thajee Zaid continued his scoring streak with another goal in Uniondale Leones 4-0 victory over Inter Soccer Academy, Doug Malina, Bladimir Guzman and Jordi Cruz were also on target. That win guarantees the Leones a first place finish, congrats to them!

Girls U11

Uniondale Gaselas and Inter Soccer Academy had a make up game this week so therefore played twice. Beatriz Flores and Ashley Hernandez scored for the Gaselas but Inter came out on top 5-2 thanks to four goals by Magally Rivera and one from Jackie Salgado.

The Gaselas recovered and won their next game against the South Huntington Cyclones. A high scoring game saw Uniondale the 7-4 victors. Ashley Hernandez scored a hat trick with Beatriz Flores and Lesly Rivas adding two each. Emily O’Mara and April Farrell also scored two each for the Cyclones in an entertaining game.

Inter were unable to make it two out of two on the day as they fell to the South Huntington Falcons 6-1. Alyssa Sorensen top scored for the Falcons with two goals. They remain in first place with four wins out of four and a double header to come next week.

Girls U12

The GU12 division saw the NHP Firecats continue to dominate. Logan Ward scored another two goals as they won 5-0 over Hauppauge Explosion to maintain their 100% record.

Middle Country Xplosion and the South Huntington Falcons played out a close game in the other GU12 match. Danielle Kleet’s goal for the Falcons was cancelled out by the Xpolsion’s top scorer Alyssa Muszak. Ashley Nolan scored a second for the Xplosion, 2-1 the final score.

Boys U14

Ricardo Orozco scored a hat trick for Hauppage Azzuri as they beat Elwood Gladiators 5-1. Alex Aliscio and Ryan Parker also found the net.

The two Uniondale teams played an end to end game that finished even. The Allstars took the lead through Marlon Morales but Jason Quantanilla tied it up before half time for Majico. Majico then took the lead when Jason Quantanilla netted his second but the Allstars were level soon after when Lionel Vanegas scored. The Majico went ahead for a second time through Freddie Ross but Rickie Enriquez tied it up again for the Allstars and the points were shared, 3-3 the score.

Jayvin Coto was on the score sheet for South Huntington Hawks but they were on the losing end of a 4-1 result as Jason Herrera and Ray Ruiz both scored twice for Inter Soccer Academy B.

Inter Soccer Academy A won by the same score against Hicksville Renegades. Top scorer Junior Reyes claimed a hat trick in the first half. Jose Alvarenga pulled a goal back for the Renegades in the second half but they couldn’t add to it as Inter maintained their proud 100% record.
