Week 1 – Review Dec 10, 2016

BU10/11

The 20th season of the Coindre Hall indoor league got underway with Valencia winning the opening BU10/11 game 6-1 against the Crushers. Cooper Brandt scored the first goal of the season to give the Crushers the lead but Remi Asghar, Chase Brandt and Zach Kaufman each scored twice to give Valencia the victory. The Crushers were soon back in action but again lost as Lennon Harrington scored a hat trick in Liverpool’s 7-1 win.

Valencia made it two wins out of two with a close 1-0 victory over Harborfields Spurs, Chase Brandt scored the only goal of the game.

Man City took a two goal lead over Liverpool thanks to goals by Grant Kurland and Josh Bakar but Liverpool hit back and another hat trick by Lennon Harrington and a goal by Diego Abrego gave Liverpool their second win of the day, 4-2,

Harborfields beat the Destroyers 4-0 to secure their first victory, Brett Sullivan scored twice. Man City beat the CSH Vipers 2-1 with goals by Grant Kurland and Josh Bakar before the Vipers recovered and won 6-0 against the Destroyers. Dylan Hayden scored a hat trick and Peter Leavy twice in the comfortable victory.

 

BU13

Huntington United made a good start to the season with two wins in week one. Jack Fallon, Jack Noble and Ben Koch were on target as they beat Chelsea 3-2 in an exciting game. Both ‘Jacks’ were on the scoresheet again as United beat Spurs 3-0. Two Lennon Harrington goals helped Chelsea beat Benfica 5-0 and a Ryan Keegan hat trick saw Everton overcome Spurs 4-0.

Goals by Luke Rinaldi and Dylan Schnitzer gave the Ambush victory 2-1 over Benfica before the Ambush and Auburndale played the game of the day sharing eight goals in a 4-4 tie. Two Liam Lennon goals gave the Ambush the lead but John Turcios replied with two goals for Auburndale to make it 2-2 at the half. Dylan Schnitzer scored for the Ambush but two more goals by John Turcios looked to have given Auburndale the points until Liam Lennon completed his hat trick with only seconds remaining.

Auburndale then beat Everton 6-0 with Joseph Martinez scoring four times.

 

BU9

A close opening game between the Southdown Flyers and Milan was settled by a Jack Steinberg goal in the first half. Both teams had chances but Jack’s goal proved to be the only one of the game.

Colin Lennon scored twice as the Outlaws beat the Flyers 7-1. Colin added two more in the 5-0 win over Lazio, Matt Ferranti also score twice.

Milan and Lazio played an entertaining match that ended 2-2. Pavel Slivchenko and Braid Martin were on target for Milan but two Jonny Kurz goals evened it up for Lazio.

GU10/11

The Girls U10/11 division proved to be very competitive with three of the games ending in ties and one being settled with the last kick of the game.

Goals by Riley Murtagh, Reese Rinaldi and Victoria Waters gave the CSH Wrecking Balls a 3-2 half time lead over Northport Extreme. Madison Howard and Ella Cancro found the net for the Extreme and a second half strike by Kaleigh Howard tied it up, 3-3 the final score in an entertaining encounter.

The Wrecking Balls and CSH Jaguars then tied another exciting game 0-0 before the Extreme and the Cheetahs went within seconds of another 0-0 tie. With both teams looking for a late winner Madison Howard’s shot found the corner of the net with only five seconds left on the clock to give the Extreme the 1-0 victory.

The Cheetahs and the Jaguars then tied 1-1 with both goals coming in the opening half. Julia Wang scored for the Jaguars and Krista Lin for the Cheetahs.

 

BU14/15

Finley and Auburndale got the BU14/15 division started with Finley coming out on top in an exciting match. Arnold Alfaro and Alex Martinez both scored twice in a 6-2 victory.

Finley and the Uniondale Vikingos then played an end to end game that saw the Vikingos take a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to an Alan Calderon goal. Both keepers came up with big saves in the second half and the Vikingos held on for the 1-0 triumph.

Dillon Guludec then scored a hat trick for Auburndale in their 3-0 victory over Outlaws White.

Raul Sanchez hit the net twice in the Vikingos 4-1 win over Outlaws Green before the Outlaws Green beat Outlaws White 6-2 in the final game of the day. Kyle Gallagher scored a hat trick and Chris Roberts twice for Green.

 

BU17/18

Two Carlos Godoy goals helped H Footy to a 3-0 win in their game against One Pound Fish, Ronan Carrol was also on target.

H Footy were then on the end of a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Sting. Eren Aydin scored twice in a convincing Sting victory.

James Cameron scored for One Pound Fish but it wasn’t enough as they went down 2-1 to Northport Explosion, Austin Borina and Will Regensburger scored the all important goals for the Explosion.

Chaos and Sting played a highly entertaining game that saw the lead change three times. Jason Garay and Jake Doanhue scored first half goals for Chaos who led 2-1 at the half. The second half saw John Baccardo and Luke Luckow add to Eren Aydin’s first half goal to give Sting a 3-2 lead but Chaos scored the last two goals of the game to win 4-3, Kevin Gulizo and Matteo Alzate on target.
