Week 4 – Weekly Review – January 11th and 12th

BU18

An end to end opening match saw Knockers FC twice take the lead over Banterous Brothers thanks to goals by Juan Salamanca and Ricky Mazur.
The Brothers responded with equalizing goals by Brian MacCleod and Matt Macchia before Brian hit the winner with the last kick of the game to win it 3-2.
Banterous Brothers couldn’t hold Pollos FC who beat them convincingly, Carlos Godoy netted a first half hat trick in the 5-0 win.
Knockers FC raced into a 3-0 lead against Miso Hungry but then found themselves 6-3 down! They pulled it back to 6-5 but ultimately went down 7-5. Austin Debus and Jonathan Osmun scored twice for Miso, Ricky Mazur hit a hat trick for Knockers FC.
Carlos Godoy was on target again scoring twice against Uncrustables. Eren Aydin went one better with a hat trick in the 5-1 victory.
Miso Hungry made it two wins out of two on the night with a 4-0 victory over Toft United, Ryan Sullivan scored twice, Jonathan Osmun and Austin Debus once.
Don Tomas FC had a good week winning both of their games 4-3. Tyler Axelson’s two goals helped them overcome Uncrustables then another two from Tyler and two by Rudy Salmeron saw off Toft United who had fought back from 3-0 down before Rudy’s late winner.

BU12/13

Liverpool maintained their winning start to the season beating CSH Spartans 4-1 in the opening game then Northport Sounders 5-0. Noah Reinstein and Mark Meihofer found the net against the Spartans and Lennon Harington added two. Mark was again on target against the Sounders as was Lennon who netted a hat trick. Gale Kurland completed the scoring for Liverpool with the games final goal.
Grant Kurland scored four times as Celtic defeated the Spartans 6-1. Angelo Lucignano and Thomas Carluccio were also on the scoresheet, Nick Rodriguez scored for the Spartans, his second of the day.
Valencia and the Sounders went in tied 0-0 at the break but shortly after Yovanni Rivera broke the deadlock then Remi Asghar, Kris Campos, Cristian Alvizures and AJ Spector all added goals for Valencia who won 5-1, Josh Bohlem replied for the Sounders.
Valencia and Celtic played a competitive game that saw both teams struggle to break the deadlock. Yovanni Rivera eventually got the games first goal mid way through the second half to give Valencia the lead and Kris Campos wrapped it up with a second to make it a final score of 2-0 to Valencia.

BU10/11

The Southdown Flyers defended impressively in both of their week 4 games keeping two clean sheets!
The Flyers and the Destroyers tied 0-0 in the division’s opening game then Michael Tucker scored a second half goal as the Flyers beat Kings Park United 1-0 in another close game.
Owen Lakhani hit a hat trick as the Destroyers recorded a 5-1 victory over HBC Ajax.
Matthew Langino scored twice in Kings Park United’s 6-0 win over HBC Milan then Spencer James netted a hat trick as CSH Tornados beat HBC Ajax 5-0.
The Tornados made it two wins out of two defeating HBC Milan in the division’s final game of the day, Austin Krywak struck twice in the 4-0 triumph.

GU11/12

Second half goals by Morgan Walcott, Amanda Burrack and Abigail Nevins saw Power take the points in their 3-1 win over CSH Orange Crush. Amanda was also on target in the Powers’s second game scoring the only goal as they beat South Huntington Wave 1-0. 
Chaos also won twice on the day. Gale Kurland scored twice in the 5-0 victory over the Crush then Allie Alloggiamento ad Ashley Austin got the goals as Chaos overcame SH Wave 2-0.

BU9

Harborfields Green won their first game 
over Port United. Liam Bayne scored all four goals in the 4-0 victory.
Joey Serventi struck twice for Harborfields White as they also beat Port United, 5-0 the score in that game.
The Greens and HBC Cosmos played a tight game that ended even. Both teams were unable to find the net and settled for a point each in the 0-0 draw.
The Whites and HBC Juventus also tied, Brendan O’Connor gave Juve an early lead but Noah Tacy equalized before half time. Both teams had chances after the break but it ended 1-1.
Owen Guddemi scored twice in the Green’s second game against the Cosmos. Liam Bayne was also on target in the 3-1 triumph, Jack Zipkin replied for the Cosmos.
Noah Tacy hit two early goals for the Whites in their second game against Juventus. Juve recovered well and replied twice before half time. Juve stepped it up after the break and converted another five times to win it 7-2. Gillian Kurland netted four times, Max Manu, Tyler Striga and Zach Smith added one each.

BU14/15

Jack Steel gave Benfica a first half lead against CSH Vipers but the Vipers were level within seconds thanks to a clever flick from Ian Smith.
Ryan Kaiser restored Benfica’s lead early in the second half and Jack Steel scored his second and Benfica’s third to win it 3-1.
Teddy Leavy’s powerful strike then gave the Vipers a 1-0 half time lead over HBC Arsenal but a strong second half performance from Arsenal saw them win 4-1. Jack Jimenez hit two goals and Andrew Stanco & David Lazaro scored once.
Jack was on target again to give Arsenal a half time lead over Benfica. Christian Lizama squared it up for Benfica and the points were shared in the 1-1 tie.
Huntington United had two convincing victories over Brentwood Tigers then Smithtown Rebound. Kevin Rankel  scored twice in the 6-0 win against the Tigers and Jack Noble bagged the first four in the 6-1 win over Smithtown. Ben Koch, Ben D’Agostino, Nick Campanelli and Dylan Thody (twice) all netted for United.
HBC City led 1-0 at half time against Brentwood Tigers thanks to Ryan Keegan’s excellent strike. David McCalla added two then Matthew Mallen and Nick La Capra each scored once in the second half to win it 5-1 for City.
Liam Harrington struck twice in the first half for Chelsea in their game against Smithtown Rebound, Lennon Harrington added a late third to make it a final score of 3-0.
David McCalla and Matthew Mallen each scored twice as HBC City defeated HBC Revolution 5-1. Nick LaCapra also found the net for City with Aidan Richter replying for Revolution.
The division’s final game of the day saw Chelsea take a 2-0 lead over HBC Revolution, Liam Harrington and Lennon Harrington scoring either side of half time. Revolution looked to be out of time but a Thomas Kaler goal with only 20 seconds remaining gave them hope and Emerson Soriano completed an impressive comeback with the games final kick to make it 2-2.

BU16

Smithtown EMK dominated against the HBC Outlaws, Lake Hayes and Nathan Chin each scored twice in the 6-0 win.
The Outlaws improved in their second game but were eventually broken down by Whitman FC. Arnold Aguilera scored a late goal in the first half and further goals by Seb Koch then Pater Humann gave Whitman a 3-0 victory.
Peter then hit a hat trick as Whitman comfortably beat Brentwood Napoli 6-0.
The best game in the division was between the Vikingos and Smithtown EMK. Warren Sanger gave the Vikingos the lead but EMK fought back to lead 2-1 with goals from Logan Daost and Sean Fitzgerald. Warren tied it up with his second goal for the Vikingos and it ended all square at 2-2.
Brentwood Napoli played well and defended confidently in the first half going to the break tied 0-0 against the Vikingos but the Vikingos turned it on in the second half and David Villa scored two of their four goals as the Vikingos claimed the points with a 4-0 win.
