WEEKLY REVIEW……Week 6

BU8

Final- HBC Milan v FC Sesa

HBC Milan and FC Sesa played for the BU8 trophy on Monday night having finished in the top two. An even first half saw Milan take the lead through a well taken goal by Gavin Wisotsky but Alen Redzematovic leveled for Sesa soon after with a powerful strike. The second half was equally as intense with both teams pressing and competing for every ball. Sesa’s Joseph Mejias fired in a left footed drive that didn’t miss by much before a Liam Harrington free kick gave Milan a 2-1 lead. Alen Redzematovic came the closest to equalizing for Sesa when his shot came back off the post but it was Milan who extended their lead shortly after. A long range shot came back off the crossbar and in the ensuing scramble Gavin Wisotky squeezed the ball in at the near post making it 3-1. A mix up in the Sesa defense then allowed another long range effort form Liam Harrington to cross the line to make the final score 4-1 in Milan’s favor.

Elwood Stars played CSH Warriors and took a 1-0 lead into half time thanks to an Eder Velez goal. The Warriors tied it up early in the second half when Sean Grogan converted a penalty kick but another penalty kick, this time scored by Matt Greer, saw the Stars regain the lead. A handball in the boxe led to a third PK and Elwood’s Sal Capace made it 3-1 hammering the ball into the Warriors net. Anthony Bell completed the scoring with a fourth goal for Elwood, 4-1 the final.

An entertaining game between HBC Everton and Syosset Red saw Everton’s top scorer CJ Marino give them the lead twice but both times the Reds hit back with goals by Sawyer Wayne. Sebastian Lippman scored what proved to be the winner for Everton as he was first to react after the ball came back off the Syosset crossbar making the final score 3-2 to Everton.

Congratulations to HBC Milan, to FC Sesa for their part in an exciting final, to CJ Marino who claimed the BU8 Golden Boot award with ten goals and to all the teams for another great season!

GU9

The final week of play in the Girls U9 division started with the Dix Hills Gummy Bears claiming their second win of the season with a 3-0 victory over the Northport Royals. Andi Rollo scored twice in the first half to put the Bears in control and Chastain Cassidy added a third after the break.

Life Elite were already assured of a first place finish and added to their points total with a win over the Massapequa Attitudes. Kailey Schneidler, Gianna Fucile and Jessica Banta were all on target in the 3-0 triumph.

The Elite followed that with a second win when they played a make up game against the Dix Hills Gummy Bears. The Elite took control early and made it 6 wins out of six with a 6-1 victory. Ashley Pantano and Kailey Schneidler scored twice for the Elite, Sabrina Abante and Madison Alaimo each with one goal. Ashley’s two goals gave her a total of six goals for the season and Chastain Cassidy’s goal for the Bears made it six for her also so both girls finish as joint winners of the Golden Boot award.

Congratulations to Life Elite for winning the division, to Chastain and Ashley for their Golden Boot triumph and to all the girls for making it an entertaining and enjoyable season.

BU12

The HBC Wolverines were guaranteed of first place in the BU12 division with five wins already under their belt. Stonybrook Bayern claimed second place with a comfortable 5-0 win over the South Huntington Sharpshooters. Bayern’s top scorer Brennan Foster added two more goals to his total for the season taking his tally to an impressive eleven. Tommy Giangrande also found the net twice and Andrew Castiblanco added the fifth to give Bayern their fourth win in six games.

Brennon’s goals also made him the winner of this season’s Golden Boot.

Congratulations to the Wolverines, to Brennan and all the U12 boys. Hopefully playing on the bigger field in the summer was a good experience and will give you a head start in the fall season, good luck!

BU7

Final- HBC Madrid v Plainedge Bulldogs

Plainedge Bulldogs eased their way into the final after winning all of their league games but were without top scorer AJ Gulino for the play off game against HBC Madrid.  The opening five minutes saw plenty of action but very few clear cut chances. Madrid eventually broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Lennon Harrington got clear of the Bulldogs defense and hit a firm shot into the corner of the net.  Madrid had a chance to extend the lead just before half time but Cruz Flores’ shot went just wide. The second half was similar with a couple of goalmouth scrambles but few scoring opportunities. Madrid extended their lead when keeper Brandon Varlack’s punt cleared everyone and allowed Lennon Harrington to run through and score his second of the game. Both teams had half chances after that but were unable to convert and an entertaining  final ended 2-0 in Milan’s favor.

Blake Donahue and Josue Corea scored first half goals for HBC Crew in their game with HBC Napoli. Napoli stepped it up after the break and had chances but Jagger Lucas scored the third and final goal of the game to make the final score 3-0 to the Crew.

Syosset Madrid and Kings Park Xtreme served up another goal feast with Madrid coming out on top 8-4. Nikko Tenedero top scored for Madrid with four goals, Jack Pendrick adding two. Aidan McCarthy and Dylan Geisler were also on target for Syosset. Gavin Marzigliata scored the Xtreme’s first goal before Alex Squillacioti claimed a hat trick, his third goal coming in the final minute to take his goal tally to sixteen for the season. That late goal took him one above an unfortunate AJ Gulino who had a total of fifteen for the season.

Congratulations to HBC Madrid on their victory in the final, to Alex Squillacioti on his Golden Boot triumph and to all the boys for making it such an exciting and enjoyable season.

Final- Dix Hills Gunners v Kings Park Arsenal

Another team moving into the play off final with a perfect record was the Dix Hills Gunners. They won all five league games but came up against a determined Kings Park Arsenal team in the most dramatic final game of the summer. Arsenal came out pumped up and took the lead through top scorer Kevin Webb. This gave them confidence and they extended their lead not long after when James Starrin’s shot found the net. The Gunners came out for the second half knowing they had a lot to do but responded well and goals by Spencer Hirsch and Tyler Glassberg tied it up at 2-2. With ten minutes left Tyler Glassberg bent the ball around the Arsenal defense and into the corner of the goal to give the Gunners their first lead of the game but Arsenal weren’t done yet. Their late pressure eventually paid off and after an excellent double save by Gunners keeper Jack  Zaremsky they made it 3-3 when Mikey Stiskin forced the ball over line from the resulting corner to take the game into sudden death overtime.                                                         With neither team able to snatch the winner in over time the season came down to penalty kicks. Tyler Glassberg, Spencer Hirsch and Cole Manus all converted their penalty kicks for the Gunners and two saves by their keeper Jack Zaremsky made sure of a Dix Hills victory. It was tough on Kings Park who played an excellent game, congrats to them for playing their part in such an exciting finale.

HBC Arsenal finished their season with a win as they overcame Syosset White by a score of 4-0. Sean Kododoy was the hero with a hat trick, Ryan Meyer added the fourth.

Commack Fury raced into a three goal lead against Syosset Red with goals by Ryan Smith, Zach Fawaz and Gavin Rothschild. The Reds fought back and drew level in the second half thanks to a goal by Jack Henick and two by Cory Elenowitz but it was Commack who came away with the victory when Ryan Smith scored his second goal of the game to make the final score 4-3 to the Fury.

Congratulations to the Dix Hills Gunners for winning their second summer league title in succession and to Tyler Glassberg, who’s twelve goals earned him the Golden Boot award, also his second in a row!

BU9/10

Final- HBC Liverpool v Annoying Oranges

Both teams went into the final with an unbeaten regular season record having tied in their earlier meeting. The Oranges came out fired up and were soon in control thanks to goals by Enzo Pupillo and Owen Husselbeck. Enzo added a third before half time as the Oranges grew in confidence. Liverpool improved after the break but couldn’t contain the Oranges offense and Enzo Pupillo completed his hat trick before Wilmer Flores added a fifth. 5-0 the final score.

HBC City and HBC Spurs played an open game with both teams focusing on attack! City came out on top 9-4 with Nico Corea top scoring with five goals. Geral Cortez scored a hat trick and Noah Paul once. Nico’s five goals took him to the top of the Golden Boot table with a total of fifteen goals.

HBC Smash and CSH Viking played an end to end game and shared four goals, 2-2 the final score. Jason Demianczyk was on target twice for the Smash but brothers Danny and Ben Higgins leveled for the Vikings.

Congratulations to the Annoying Oranges for their final triumph, to Nico Corea for his Golden Boot win and to all the teams for another exciting summer season.

GU13/14

Impact FC went into the final day knowing two wins (one a make up game v Hauppauge) would make them the GU13/14 champions. Emma Kirkpatrick scored a hat trick in their first game against the South Huntington Falcons and Gabby Cacciola added one in the 4-0 victory.

Hauppauge Explosion also had two games and were in the same position having to win both games to become the champions. They beat Hempstead EOC Lady Panthers 3-2 with goals by Cydney Munro, Lindsey Devine and Tori Durney to set up a final game against Impact which turned out to be a ‘winner takes all‘ game.

The previous game between the two team ended level at 1-1. This time the Impact girls took control and two goals by Gabby Cacciola set them on their way to victory. Becka Ragensburger scored a third before her sister Taylor added a fourth. That goal won Taylor the Golden Boot award as she moved one ahead of teammate Gabby Cacciola! 4-0 the final score.

Congrats to Impact FC, to Taylor for her Golden Boot win, to Hauppauge for taking it ‘to the wire’ and all the girls for an exciting season.

BU11

Final- Brentwood v Hempstead EOC Wolves

The previous meeting between these two teams was during week one when the Wolves came out on top 2-1. This time it was Brentwood who started the strongest and took an early lead through Joogans Charles, his shot going in off the post. Herris Robbles doubled Brentwood’s advantage before half time and added a third shortly after to put them in control. Nilton Gonzalez pulled a goal back for the Wolves when he scored a penalty kick but Charles Junior put the game out of reach with a fourth for Brentwood, 4-1 the final score.

The other game in the division saw Kings Park Explosion play the HBC Kings. Tyler Phillips struck first for the Kings but an excellent dipping shot by Michael Palladino drew the Explosion level. Tyler Phillips was the hero for the Kings in the second half as he completed his hat trick to give the Kings a 3-1 win.

BU13/14

Hempstead EOC Leopards needed to win their final game of the season against the Vortex to finish in first place of the BU13/14 division. After a scoreless first half the Leopards got the breakthrough they were looking for when David Albarca scored his sixth goal of the season. A Damian Villatoro penalty kick doubled Hempstead’s lead but a Nick Mazza strike made it a tense finish. The Leopards held on to win the game 2-1 and take first place.

The Uniondale Leones played the South Huntington Sledgehammers knowing they could only finish second after Hempstead’s earlier win. Elver Fuentes and Andy Blanco scored in the first half for them and late goals by Thajee Blair and top scorer David Calix completed a 4-0 victory.

Congratulations to Hempstead EOC Leopards on their league win, to David Calix who was the Golden Boot Champion and to all the boys for another exceptional season.

GU10

CSH Crushers went into their final game knowing only a win would be good enough for them to have a chance of winning the division. With a double header between Life Elite and South Hunt. Stars to follow they also needed Life Elite to lose a couple of points. Kailey Rappel got them off to a good start against the Uniondale Panteras with two first half goals. Ashley Hernandez pulled a goal back for the Panteras but Taylor Cullen restored the two goal cushion after the break. Ashley scored again for the Panteras to make it 3-2 but Taylor then scored her second to make it 4-2 to the Crushers. An excellent strike from the edge of the box by Ashley Hernandez completed her hat trick and brought it to 4-3 but the Crushers held on for the victory.

Life Elite ’03 went into their double header with the knowledge that only two wins would take them to the top of the table. The first game against the South Hunt. Stars was a close game with the only goal being scored by Elite’s Gabby Martinez. That 1-0 triumph meaning Elite had to overcome the Stars for a second time to take first place.                                                                                                                                                                                        Gabby Martinez was on target again as Elite took charge of the second game. She scored twice and further goals by Madison Cadena, Gabby Modica and Ava Muffoletto gave Elite a comfortable 5-0 win and first place in the league. Gabby’s goals also made her co-Golden Boot Champion with Uniondale’s Ashley Hernandez, both girls scoring six times this season.

Congrats to the Life Elite’03 girls, to Ashley and Gabby for their Golden Boot win and to all the players for a great season.

WEEKLY REVIEW …………..week 5

BU8

Elwood Stars got off to a good start in their BU8 game against HBC Milan. Matt Greer hammered home the opening goal and Anthony Bell made it 2-0 shortly after. Luke Copland pulled one back for Milan but Edda Beliz restored the two goal advantage as the Stars went into half time with a 3-1 lead. Milan fought back in the second half and scored twice in quick succession, Gavin Wisotsky and Justin Gennat with the goals. Liam Harrington completed the comeback for Milan to make it 4-3 meaning Milan play FC Sesa in next week’s play off final.

CJ Marino scored two early goals to give HBC Everton a 2-0 lead over FC Sesa. Sesa hit back before half time with two goals of their own, Junior and Joseh Mejias on target. Alen Redzematovic looked like he had won it for Sesa when he blasted in a penalty kick but CJ Marino completed his hat trick in the dying moments to make the final score 3-3.

Zach Finkelstein scored four times for Syosset Red as they claimed their first victory of the season against CSH Warriors. Jacob Beekman and Andrew Brotman also found the net in the 6-1 win, Danny Higgins replied for the Warriors.

BU12

Kings Park Dynamite and Stonybrook Bayern played an entertaining game in the BU12 division. It was all square until Bayern’s top scorer Brennan Foster broke the deadlock in the second half. James Dicanio added a second with an excellent dipping strike from distance but the Dynamite pulled a goal back through Jamie Sicardi to set up a tense ending to the game. The Dynamite has a late chance but Bayern held on for the 2-1 win.

GU9

Sam Goldberg was the hero for Life Elite scoring both goals in the 2-0 victory over Northport Royals to keep Elite top of the table with a maximum of nine points from their three games so far.

Chastain Cassidy went one better with a hat trick for Dix Hills Gummy Bears who recorded their first win of the season over Massapequa Attitudes. Julia Gagliano gave the Attitudes a 1-0 half time lead but two goals by Chastain, one a well taken header at the near post, turned it around for the Bears. The Attitudes fought back and Nikki Buffolino placed the ball in the corner of the Dix Hills net to make it 2-2. It was the Bears day though and Chastain completed her hat trick with a clinical finish to give them a 3-2 victory.

BU13/14

South Huntington Sledgehammers and Hempstead EOC Leopards shared the points in their BU13/14 game. The Leopards took an early two goal lead, Amara ‘Balotelli’ Corona with a neat finish after a good run followed by David Albarca’s strike. Chris Guevera pulled one back for the ‘Hammers then Colin Bernard’s cross found its way into the Leopards goal to make the final score 2-2.

David Calix scored a hat trick for Uniondale Leones in their game with the Vortex. Tajhee Blair, Elver Fuentes and Andy Blanco were also on target for the Leones in their 6-1 win. Alexi Morel scored for the Vortex.

The Vortex and Hempstead played their make up game on Thursday and a close game was decided in the second half by Oscar Uribe, his goal giving the Leopards a 2-1 victory. The Leopards had taken the lead in the first half through Edwin Castillo but Nick Mazza tied it up early in the second half for the Vortex. The two teams meet again on Tuesday.

GU10

CSH Crushers lost their unbeaten record as they went down 3-1 to Life Elite 03. Gabby Modica scored the only goal of a close first half for the Elite. Gabby Martinez scored twice for Elite in the second half with Kailey Rappel replying for the Crushers, who despite losing, remain top of the table on eight points.

Uniondale Leones recorded their first win of the season. Zasil Mendoza scored both goals for the Leones in their 2-0 victory over South Huntington Stars.

BU11

Kings Park Explosion won for the second time this season beating the Dirty Dozen by a score of 8-3. The first half was pretty even with the Explosion taking a 3-2 lead into the break. The Dozen did score one more goal in the second half but five from Kings Park gave them a comfortable win. Mark Tolkin and Jordan Sahpiro were both on target twice for the Explosion. Matthew Nieto, Matt Catoir, Dominick Cardamone and Ethan Zdrojeski also scored for Kings Pk. Michael Kleinman, Aaron Einnegar and Nico Rezhek replying for the Dozen.

Hempstead EOC Wolves maintained their 100% record with a comfortable win over the HBC Kings. Colin Sim top scored for them with two goals in the 5-0 victory. Nilton Gonzalez, Branden Figueroa and Kes  also on target.

Brentwood had two victories this week. They were 5-0 winners in both games against CSH on Tuesday and the Dirty Dozen on Thursday. Those results confirm that the BU11 final will be between Brentwood and Hempstead EOC Wolves.

BU7

HBC Madrid and HBC Crew met for the first time on Wednesday with Madrid needing to win to have a chance of making it to the final. They went 3-0 up through goals by Lennon Harrington, Chris Walker and Brandon Varlack but Jagger Lucas pulled one back for the Crew before half time. The second half saw Chris Walker complete his hat trick and Jack Meyer added one to make the final score 6-1.

Plainedge Bulldogs stormed into a 4-1 half time lead against Kings Pk Xtreme with AJ Gulino scoring all four goals for the Bulldogs. Christian Hall was on target for the Xtreme but further goals by Matt Chadwick and AJ Spector made the final score 6-1. It also means AJ Gulino is top of the Golden Boot table by two goals with one week to play,

Syosset Madrid were 5-0 winners over HBC Napoli. Kent Malaby played an excellent first half in goal for Napoli but goals by Jack Pendrick, Miles Nevins and Nikko Tenedero gave them a 3-0 lead. Madrid added to their score in the second half through Cameron Chan and a second goal for Jack Pendrick. That result left the two Madrids, HBC and Syosset, level on points in second place with HBC advancing to the final with a slightly better head to head record against the other teams.

BU9

Kings Park Arsenal took the lead in the first ten seconds of their game with HBC Arsenal and never looked back. Kevin Webb was on target twice in the 4-0 victory which puts them in next week’s play off final against Dix Hills Gunners. Mikey Stiskin and Rich Bender also found the net for Arsenal.

Commack Fury scored the first goal of the game against Dix Hills Gunners but the Gunners recovered and an ‘attack minded’ game saw them come out on top by a score of 8-4. Tyler Goldberg, Nick Oprea and Matt Chumski all scored twice for the Gunners with Ian Alper and Andrew Pinzone adding one each. Giancarlo Difava, Zach Fawaz, Mike Terry and Jack Newfield scored for the Fury. The Gunners move into next week’s final with their 100% record intact.

BU9/10

Ben Higgins scored twice for the CSH Vikings but Danny Higgins went one better with a hat trick in the Vikings 6-1 victory over the HBC Spurs. Stephen Duval also hit the net for CSH with Hunter Scimone scoring the only Spurs goal.

HBC Liverpool were also 6-1 winners in their game with the HBC Smash. CJ Marino scored two early goals for Liverpool before Sean Phillips pulled one back for the Smash. The rest of the game belonged to Liverpool who scored four more goals, Gavin Wisotsky added two to his total to remain top of the Golden Boot table and Owen Reyes and Dean Muratore scored one each.

The Annoying Oranges and HBC City played an exciting game and it was City who took the lead through top scorer Nico Corea. The Oranges replied with two goals, Ian Huselbeck and Enzo Pupillo finding the net to make it 2-1 in their favor. Geral Cortez tied it up for City but Wilmer Flores scored the winner for the Oranges to make the final score 3-2. Next week’s final between the Oranges and Liverpool should be a great game!

WEEKLY REVIEW…..Week 4

BU8

HBC Everton got their second win of the season beating the CSH Warriors. CJ Marino opened the scoring before Zach Hammerman doubled the lead with a powerful drive that found the top corner. Sean Grogan pulled a goal back for the Warriors but Sebastian Lippman made it 3-1 and CJ Marino scored his second before half time. The second half saw Hudson Bilbao extend the lead further before a Warriors own goal completed the scoring, 6-1 to Everton the final score.

FC Sesa and HBC Milan went into their game with perfect records of three wins each. Sesa took an early lead when Joseph Mejias sent an excellent free kick from distance into the Milan goal. Joseph then doubled the lead with another free kick before Luke Copland pulled one back for Milan before half time. The second half saw plenty of action but no more goals as Sesa held on for the 2-1 victory. That result guarantees Sesa a place in the play off final in week six.

Elwood Stars and Syosset Red shared four goals in a well balanced game. The Stars led thanks to goals by Sal Capace and Matt Greer but Max Rauch got Syosset back in the game before half time and Zach Finkelstein tied it up after the break to make it 2-2. Both teams had chances to win it but it ended all square.

BU12

Kings Park Dynamite and South Huntington Sharpshooters played an even first half with both teams unable to break the deadlock. The Dynamite exploded into action in the second half and goals by Luke Nelson, JD Anderson and two from Jamie Siccardi secured a 4-0 victory.

Stonybrook Bayern took a 1-0 lead into half time against the HBC Wolverines thanks to another Brennon Foster goal. The undefeated Wolverines managed to turn it around in the second half and two strikes from John Guerrera were enough to give them a 2-1 triumph to maintain their 100% record.

GU9

Massapequa Attitudes had Bridget Murphy to thank for her hat trick in their game with the Northport Royals. Mary Stork was also on target twice and Rachel Chillemi once in the 6-1 victory. Maraid Gayer was the Royals’ scorer.

Life Elite ’05 were also winners in the GU9 division with a 5-0 victory over the Dix Hills Gummy Bears. Sammy Goldberg top scored for the Elite with two goals, the others coming from Sabrina Abenante, Ashley Pantano and Madison Alaimo.

BU11

CSH Rapids took a 3-1 lead into the half time break against the Dirty Dozen. Tyler Pennetta, Danny Burns and Nicolas Valenti all finding the net with Christopher Roberts replying for the Dozen. Ian Kaish and Nico Rzehak scored second half goals for the Dozen but Camden Vittaglioni’s goal meant the Rapids came out on top 4-3.

Charles Junior was on target twice for Brentwood in their 5-0 victory over the HBC Kings. Herris Robbles, Eric Castro and Nathanial Austin completed the scoring to send Brentwood on the way to the play off final in week six.

BU13/14

Chris Guevera’s goal for the South Huntington Sledgehammers was the only goal of a close first half against the Vortex. The Vortex had opportunities to tie it up in the second half but couldn’t find a way past the ‘Hammers keeper Corey Pearlman who stopped two breakaways. Tim Mahadeo made it 2-0 shortly after to make sure the ‘Hammers took the three points.

Hempstead EOC Leopards lost their unbeaten record in an excellent game against the Uniondale Leones. David Calix scored the only goal of the first half for the Leones and after both teams missed second half chances David scored his second slipping the ball past the Leopards’ keeper. 2-0 the final score.

GU10

CSH Crushers went four points clear at the top of the GU10 table with a 4-1 win over South Huntington Stars. Kaylee Rappel, Petra Brown, Emily Plachta and Taylor Cullen all scored for the Crushers, Alexis Barbery finding the net for the Stars.

Life Elite ’03 had a comfortable victory over the Uniondale Panteras. Brooke Godsell scored twice in the 5-0 win. Gabby Martinez, Tori Walker and Ella Bower added the others.

BU7

Jake Hatton and Jagger Lucas scored twice each in the HBC Crew’s game with HBC Napoli. Blake Donahue and Chris Rinaldi added further goals before Logan Zipper scored a consolation goal for Napoli, 6-1 the final score.

Plainedge Bulldogs maintained their 100% record with a comfortable 5-1 win over HBC Madrid. AJ Gulino scored a first half hat trick and Alex Katsaounis netted one as the Bulldogs raced into a 4-0 half time lead. Eric Gusavitch scored a fifth for the Bulldogs before Dylan Gugin pulled one back for Madrid in the last minute.

Nikko Tenedero scored a hat trick and Jack Pendrick netted twice for Syosset Madrid in their 7-3 win over Kings Park Xtreme. Miles Nevins and and Dylan Geisser were also on target for Madrid who are now joint second in the table. Alex Squillacioti added two more to his total to stay top of the Golden Boot table and Christian Hall added the other for the Xtreme.

BU9

Dix Hills’ Tyler Glassberg  again demonstrated his finishing ability with four first half goals in the Gunners game against HBC Arsenal. Jack Zaremski came out of the Dix Hills goal to score twice in the second half and Nick Oprea added a seventh before Sean Kozodoy and Aleksander Proniewski, with a neat header, pulled goals back for Arsenal. 7-2 the final score.

Kevin Henris Gave Commack Fury a first minute lead over Syosset White with a well taken penalty kick. Max Franz leveled for the Whites before half time but a second penalty kick, this time converted by Zach Fawaz, restored the Fury’s lead in the second half. Max Franz scored his second of the game and Kosei Yuki added a third as the Whites came from behind again to win it 3-2.

Syosset Reds led 2-0 at half time against Kings Park Arsenal thanks to two Zach McPhee goals. Kings Park turned it around in the second half with two goals by Jack Jimenez and one from Kevin Webb completing the comeback, 3-2 the final in this one.

BU9/10

HBC Liverpool and the Annoying Oranges both secured victories and a place in the play off final in the BU9/10 division. The Oranges beat HBC Smash 3-0 thanks to goals by Gavin Kata, Enzo Pupillo and Wilmer Flores while Liverpool put six goals past HBC Spurs. Gavin Wisotsky scored a hat trick, CJ Marino twice and Owen Reyes once in the 6-1 victory. Shane Longin scored for Spurs in the first half.

Nico Corea added two to his goals tally but it wasn’t enough for HBC City who went down 3-2 to the CSH Vikings. Danny Higgins was also on target twice and Nick Lacapra once for the Vikings.

GU13/14

South Huntington Falcons and Hauppauge Explosion became the first two teams this season to tie 0-0! Both teams had periods of pressure but were unable to break the deadlock as the Falcons claimed their first point of the summer.

Impact FC and Hempstead EOC Lady Panthers were equally matched in their game and were also 0-0 at half time. The Panthers had their chances but the Impact’s Catherine Hayes scored the only goal of the game to take the Impact three points clear at the top.

WEEKLY REVIEW….Week 3

BU8

The two HBC teams went head to head in the opening game of the BU8 division. Everton started brightly and were twice denied by the crossbar in the opening exchanges, CJ Marino and Sebastian Lippman both going close early on. Milan hit back and took the lead when Liam Harrington’s shot found the top corner. Gavin Wisotsky hit the post before doubling Milan’s lead with a low drive. The second half was end to end with the only goal coming again from Gavin Wisotsky making the final score 3-0 in Milan’s favor.

CSH Warriors recorded their first win of the summer season with a hard fought victory over Elwood Stars. Lucas Sheridan gave them a first half lead and that was enough to secure the points. The Stars laid siege to the Warriors goal in the second half but keeper Michael Ferante made a string of important saves to make sure of the 1-0 victory.

FC Sesa stay joint top with a third straight win, this time over Syosset Red. Zach Finkelstein gave the Red’s the lead but Sesa replied with goals by Jayden Meija and Alen Redzematovic. Zach Noll evened the score up for Syosset but late goals by Joseph Meija and a Alen Redzematovic made the final score 4-2 to Sesa.

GU9

Northport Royals went into half time with a 5-1 lead over the Dix Hills Gummy Bears. The Bears stepped it up in the second half, Rebecca Witkiewicz completed her hat trick and Chastain Cassidy scored to make it 5-4 but the Royals got the last two goals of the game to make the final score 7-4. Natalie McKenna and Kiera Buckley each scored twice and Keira Sammis, Casey Koneig & Marryn Gruhn had one apiece for the Royals.

Life Elite ’05 led 2-0 at half time against Massapequa Attitudes thanks to goals by Sabrina Abante and Ashley Pantano. The Attitudes pulled one back after the break when Bridget Murphy ran from her own half before slipping the ball past the Elite keeper but they couldn’t add to it and Elite held on for the 2-1 victory.

BU12

Stonybrook Bayern and South Hunt. Sharpshooters played the only BU12 game of the week and it was Bayern who came out on top with a second consecutive win. Brennan Foster scored his second hat trick of the season and Jack Dunn scored once in the 4-0 triumph.

GU10

The only girls U10 game to be played this week was between the CSH Crushers and Uniondale Panteras. The Crushers had the better of the first half and led through a goal by Meredith McPharlin but the Panteras replied with a goal by Ashley Hernandez and despite chances for both teams the game ended 1-1. The Life Elite ’03 v South Hunt. Stars match was a victim of the weather and will be played at a later date.

BU13/14

South Huntington Sledgehammers and Uniondale Leones played an exciting game in the BU13/14 division. Meghan O’Donnell gave the ‘Hammers a 1-0 lead midway through the first half with a strike from the edge of the penalty area. The Leones were awarded a penalty kick in the second half after a South Huntington defender handled the ball but ‘keeper Corey Pearlman stopped the kick to preserve the ‘Hammers lead. Chris Guevera then made it 2-0 with a good finish at the near post before David Calix scored for the Leones when he expertly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper. The Leones pressed for the equalizer but it wasn’t to be and the ‘Hammers took the points with a 2-1 victory.

BU7

Hbc Napoli and Hbc Madrid played the day’s first BU7 game and it was Madrid who came away with the points. Lennon Harrington scored a hat trick and Dylan Paul and Chris Walker added one each in the 5-0 victory.

Kings Park Xtreme and Hbc Crew went goal crazy in their game scoring fifteen goals between them! Alex Squillacioti scored seven times in the 9-6 triumph. Jake Hutter and Christian Hall were also on target for the Xtreme. Blake Donahue scored four times for the Crew with Jake Hatton and Julia Rombaldi also finding the net.

Plainedge Bulldogs stay top of the table after a 5-1 win over Syosset Madrid. AJ Gulino scored a hat trick and Alex Kataounis twice to maintain the Bulldogs 100% record. Myles Nevins scored Madrid’s only goal.

BU9

Dix Hills Gunners made it three wins out of three with a 4-0 victory over Syosset White. Jeffrey Wilson, Ian Alper, Aidan Kolbe and Chris Thorsen all on target.

HBC Arsenal raced into a four goal lead before half time against Syosset Red. Geral Cortez opened the scoring with a confident strike before Alexander Proniewski, Ryan Meyer and Sean Kozodoy all added goals. Ethan Hart pulled a goal back for Syosset but HBC’s Liam Harrington and Mikey Kline added further goals to make the final score 6-1.

Kings Park Arsenal also picked up three points in their game against Commack Fury. Kevin Webb, Danny Friedman, James Straan and Mikey Stiskin all finding the net in the 4-1 victory. Gavin Rothschild scored for the Fury.

BU9/10

A CJ Marino hat trick helped Liverpool on their way to victory over the CSH Vikings. Gavin Wisotsky was also on target in the 4-2 win, Ben Higgins and Sean Grogan replied for the Vikings. The win keeps Liverpool joint top with the Annoying Oranges.

HBC Smash had a good day recording their second win of the season. Sean Phillips scored a hat trick and Jason Demianczyk netted twice in a 5-2 victory over HbC City. Nico Corea added two goals to his tally for City.

Wilmer Flores was another player to score a hat trick, his goals coming in a 6-1 win for the Annoying Oranges over HBC Spurs. Enzo Pupillo scored twice and Gavin Kata once as the Oranges joined Liverpool on seven points. Hunter Scimone scored for the Spurs.

GU13/14

Impact FC and Hauppague both won their week three games to stay level at the top of the GU13/14 division on seven points. The Impact had a comfortable win over South Huntington Falcons, Taylor Regansburger and Gabby Cacciola each scored twice and Ariana Dimitakis once in the 5-0 victory.

A close game between the Hempstead EOC Lady Panthers and Hauppague produced plenty of action but only one goal, Lauren Haggerty scoring the winner for Hauppague.

SUMMER ’13  WEEKLY REVIEW……

Week 2

BU8

HBC Milan and CSH Warriors got week two underway and it was Milan who took control early on with goals by Shay Daly and Liam Harrington. Two strikes by Justin Gennat and another from Gavin Wisotsky added to the total and made the final score 5-0.

Finn McCloskey gave Elwood Stars an early lead against FC Sesa but it wasn’t long before Alex Redzematov tied it up. Anthony Bell then gave Stars a 2-1 lead before half time and Finn McCloskey added a third after the break as Elwood looked to be heading for victory. FC Sesa pulled one back when Jack Bonura found the net and Alen Redzematov brought Sesa level with his second goal of the game. With only a few minutes remaining Jack Bonura completed the comeback scoring the winner, and his second, for Sesa. 4-3 the outcome.

Syosset Red and HBC Everton served up more excitement in the day’s third game. The Reds took the lead through Max Rauch but two quick goals by CJ Marino then gave Everton the lead. Max was soon on target for the Reds again to make it 2-2 but two Gavin Wisotsky goals made it 4-2 at half time in Everton’s favor. Dylan Rauch pulled a goal back for Syosset then Andrew Brotman made it 4-4 as the Reds pressured Everton’s goal. In an end to end finish Everton’s CJ Marino completed his hat trick when his shot found the net to give HBC the three points, 5-4 the final in this one.

BU12

HBC Wolverines came out on top against the South Huntington Sharpshooters. Nickolas Dittmer scored twice and Emmy Forbes, Nickolas Mazza and Ryan Szaba once in their 5-0 victory.

Stonybrook Bayern also had a good day with a 4-0 win over Kings Park Explosion, Brennan Foster was the hero netting a hat trick. Ben Witover added the fourth to give Bayern their first points of the season.

GU9

Northport Royals and Life FC had no problems finding the net in their GU9 game. Mariad Gayer scored twice and Natalie McKenna once for the Royals but they were beaten 8-3. Ashley Pantano and Jessica Banta each scored two goals for Life, the others coming from Sam Goldberg, Madison Alaimo, Gianna Fucile and Kailey Schneidler.

Massapequa Attitudes were in action against Dix Hills Gummy Bears who were playing their first game of the season. Rachel Chilemi was on target twice for the ‘Attitudes’ with Nikki Buffolino, Mary Stork and Julia Gagliano adding one each in their 6-1 win. Jayden Piraino scored the only goal for the Bears.

GU10

CSH Crushers remain unbeaten after their 2-0 win over Life Elite 03. Meredith McPhalin scored the only goal of the first half before keeping a clean sheet in goal in the second half with some excellent saves. Abbie Grogan added a second for the Crushers after the break who are now joint top with South Huntington Stars.

The Stars also had a good day against the Uniondale Panteras. Alexis Barberry and Kristy Chillemi gave them a 2-0 lead at half time and although Ashley Hernandez scored twice for the Panteras it was the Stars who came out on top. Kristy scored her second of the game and Kristen Salas added one more to make the final score 4-2.

BU11

The HBC Kings and CSH Rapids played an even game in the BU11 division. Camden Vitagliano was on target for the Rapids but Daniel Poblete’s goal for the Kings made the final score 1-1.

Hempstead EOC Wolves had two hat trick heros on the day in their game with the Dirty Dozen. Nilton Gonzalez and Edwin Castro each scored three in the 7-2 victory. Brandon Figueroa also scored with Nico Rzehak replying twice for the Dozen.

A Connor McGovern penalty kick gave Kings Park Explosion the lead in their game against Brentwood but it was Brentwood who ended up comfortable winners thanks to a William Garcia hat trick. Herris Robbles, Jurgen Chavez and Nathanial Austin also found the net in their 6-1 victory.

BU13/14

Elber Fuentes and Melvin Delcid gave Uniondale Leones a 2-0 half time lead over the Vortex. Andy Blanco, Jordan Cruz and David Calix extended the lead in the second half before Jacob Merlo pulled one back for the Vortex, 5-1 the final score.

An exciting game between Hempstead EOC Leopards and South Huntington Sledgehammers saw both teams reach half time even at 1-1. Chris Babinski was on target for the Sledgehammers and David Abarca for the Leopards. A competitive second half only produced one goal and it was David Abarca with his second of the game who won it 2-1 for the Leopards.

BU7

AJ Gulino scored twice for the Plainedge Bulldogs in their game with HBC Crew. Brian Keaveney added a third as the Bulldogs went in at half time 3-0 up. Alex Katsaounis added a fourth before a Blake Donahue penalty kick pulled one back for the Crew, 4-1 the final score.

The two Madrids, Syosset and HBC shared ten goals in an end to end game. HBC lead 2-0 at the break with goals by Brandan Varlack and CJ Marino. The lead changed hands a couple of times after the break as Syosset hit back with three unanswered goals. Nikko Tenedero scored twice for Syosset with Aidan McCarthy, Jack Pendrick and Mason Laliotis also finding the net. Dylan Paul scored his first of the season for HBC and CJ Marino completed his hat trick with the game ending 5-5.

Kings Park Xtreme raced into a 5-0 lead against HBC Napoli, Christian Hall scored twice and Jake Hutter completed a first half hat trick. Napoli improved after the break and Kent Malaby pulled a goal back. Chase Rosenblum scored two more for Napoli but two Alex Squillacioti strikes made the final score 7-3 to the Xtreme.

BU9

Ryan Meyer scored his first goal of the season for HBC Arsenal as they took the lead over Syosset White. Syosset were back on level terms before half time with Dylan Provenz finding the net. Aleksander Proniewski restored Arsenal’s lead after the break but Dylan Provenz scored his second for the Whites to make the final score 2-2.

Syosset Red took the lead against Commack Fury when a corner kick was deflected into the goal but two goals by Giancarlo DiFava gave the Fury a 2-1 at half time. The second half saw Steven Portela and Ralph Severino add further goals for the Fury who finished up 4-1 winners.

Dix Hills Gunners went clear at the top of the table with a 6-1 victory over Kings Park Arsenal. Tyler Glassberg and Jeffrey Wilson each scored twice with Ian Alper and Matthew Chumski adding one apiece. Mike Stiskin scored Arsenal’s only goal, his second of the season.

BU9/10

The CSH Vikings and HBC Smash went in all square 1-1 at half time in their BU9/10 game. Danny Higgins scored for the Vikings and Jason Denianczyck for the Smash. The Vikings took control after the break and goals by Carson Fruchtman, Ben Higgins and another for Danny Higgins secured them the three points with a 4-1 victory.

Nico Corea scored a hat trick and Leo Palumbo netted twice as HBC City recorded their first win of the season over HBC Spurs. Shane Longin was on target twice for Spurs but it ended up 5-2 in City’s favor.

HBC Liverpool and the Annoying Oranges shared four goals in an end to end encounter. Ian Husselbeck and Wilmer Flores scored for the Oranges and Gavin Wisotsky added two more to his goals tally for Liverpool. Both teams had chances to win it but it ended even at 2-2.

GU13/14

Sarah Woods was the hat trick hero for Hempstead EOC Lady Panthers as they beat South Huntington Falcons by a score of 4-0. Cristina Molina was also on target as the Panthers got their first win of the season.

Impact FC’s Taylor Regensburger scored the only goal of an entertaining first half as the Impact and Hauppague went head to head in the GU13/14 division. Hauppague hit back after the break and Shannon Tuozzo tied it up. Neither team could find a winning goal and the points were shared, 1-1 the final score.

SUMMER ’13  WEEKLY REVIEW……

Week 1

BU7

HBC Crew and Syosset Madrid got the BU7 season underway and it was the Crew who raced into an early two goal lead thanks to a Jake Hatton double. Syosset hit back to tie it up before half time as Jack Pendrick scored twice. Jack completed his hat trick in an entertaining second half with Madrid coming out on top 5-3. Mason Laliotis and Aidan McCarthy were also second half scorers for Madrid with Blake Donahue on target for the Crew.

HBC Madrid and Kings Park Xtreme continued the attacking theme in a game that produced twelve goals! Alex Sqillaciotti and Christian Hall each found the net twice for the Xtreme but a Dylan Gugin hat trick and two from Austin Scherner helped HBC to an 8-4 victory. Brandon Varlack, Lennon Harrington and Chris Walker completed the scoring for HBC.

AJ Gulino was another player to claim a hat trick as he scored three first half goals for the Plainedge Bulldogs against HBC Napoli. HBC improved after the break but the Bulldogs were comfortable winners, Alex Katsaounis and an own goal made the final score 5-0.

BU8

Elwood Stars and HBC Everton played an end to end game to open the BU8 division. Matthew Greer gave the Stars the lead in the first half but Sebastian Lippman’s free kick tied it up. Matthew gave the Stars the lead for a second time only for Sebastian to bring Everton level again, this time with a penalty kick. Sal Capace won it for the Stars with a late goal to make it 3-2.

FC Sesa started their season with a 5-0 win over the CSH Warriors, Jayden Mejas and Alen Redzematov each scored twice with Nick Maloney adding a fifth.

HBC Milan also recorded a victory in their opening game against Syosset Red. Liam Harrington, Ben Stummer and Shay Daly gave them a 3-0 lead at the half. Zach Finkelstein pulled one back for the Reds before Ben Stummer scored his second, and Milan’s fourth, to make the finals score 4-1.

GU9

The only GU9 game this week saw Massapequa Attitudes take a 2-0 lead in the first half against Northport Royals, Julia Gagliano and Mary Stork with the goals. The Royals hit back in the second half and strikes by Marynn Gruen and Abby Buonagurio made the final score 2-2. Life FC and the Dix Hills Gummy Bears get their season started next week.

GU10

South Huntington Stars and CSH Crushers got the GU10 season underway with 2 -2 tie. Ashley Kozlowski scored twice for the Stars and Emily Plachta twice for the Crushers in an evenly matched game. Life FC and Uniondale Panteras start their season next week.

BU9

HBC Arsenal and Commack Fury played an exciting game to open up the BU9 division. Mike Terry gave the Fury the lead before Luke Copland equalized for Arsenal to make it 1-1 at half time. Commack again took the lead with an Aaron Slobowdow shot before Liam Harrington’s deflected corned made it 2-2.  Liam Harrington’s free kick then gave Arsenal their first lead and they held on to win 3-2.

Kings Park Arsenal started their season with a victory over Syosset White. Ethan Hart found the net for Syosset but a Kevin Webb hat trick and goals by Mike Stiskin and Eric Clemente made it 5-1 in Arsenal’s favor.

Dix Hills Gunners also came out on top 5-1 over Syosset Red. Last season’s Golden Boot winner Tyler Glassberg and Jeffrey Wilson each scored twice with Matthew Chumsky also on target. Noah Gordon got the goal for the Reds.

BU9/10

HBC City and HBC Liverpool traded early goals in their game opening U9/10 game. Nico Corea was on target twice for City but five goals by Gavin Wisotsky and two from Dean Muratore gave Liverpool a 7-2 victory.

The Annoying Oranges also opened up with a win beating the CSH Vikings by a score of 5-0. Enzo Pupillo scored a hat trick with Nikolai Sefarian and Gavin Kata adding one goal each.

HBC Smash and HBC Spurs played an exciting game with neither side able to find the net in a tight first half. Nick Caviris eventually broke the deadlock then added a second, after his initial penalty kick was saved, to give the Smash a 2-0 victory.

BU11

The HBC Kings took a 1-0 lead into half time in their opening game against the Dirty Dozen thanks to a free kick by Logan Elmore. The Dozen stepped it up in the second half and took a 3-1 lead with two goals by Danny Costello and one by Connor Galleagher. James Phillipis pulled one back for the Kings but the Dozen held on for the 3-2 victory.

Tyler Pennetta was on target twice for the CSH Rapids but ended up on the losing team as the Kings Park Explosion came out on top 4-2. Matthew Palladino found the net twice for the Explosion with Connor McGovern and Michael Kloos scoring one each.

Hempstead EOC Wolves played a very competitive game against Brentwood. Nilton Gonzalez gave the Wolves the lead and Brandon Figueroa doubled it before half time. Brentwood fought back in the second half and Heris Robbels reduced the deficit with a well taken penalty kick. Despite some late pressure the Wolves held on for the 2-1 victory.

BU12

Kings Park Dynamite and The South Huntington Sharpshooters got the BU12 season going and it was the Dynamite who struck first with a goal by JD Anderson. That proved to be the only goal of a close first half. The second half produced more opportunities with JD completing his hat trick as the Dynamite edged out the Sharpshooters 3-2. Jonathan Solar and Matthew Calandra replying for South Huntington.

HBC Wolverines won their first game of the season over Stonybrook Bayern. Nikolas Dittner and Ryan Szabo scored two goals each and Nikolas Mazza added one in the 5-1 victory. Brennan Foster was on target for Bayern.

GU13/14

Hauppauge came out on top in a close game with the South Huntington Falcons as the GU13/14 division got underway. Jessica Boyle scored for the Falcons but goals by Lindsey Devine and Lauren Haggerty gave Hauppauge the 2-1 victory.

In the other game, Impact FC overcame Hempstead EOC Lady Panthers by a score of 3-0. Taylor Ragensberger scored twice and Brianna Vacca once to claim the points for Impact.

BU13/14

A Sean O’Donnell free kick gave the South Huntington Sledgehammers the lead in their game against the Vortex. Phillip Ferranola replied for the Vortex to make it 1-1 at half time. In the second half Odir Cortez latched onto a through ball and hammered a shot high into the net to give the Vortex the points in a 2-1 victory.

Another tight match up saw the Hempstead EOC Leopards play Uniondale Leones. It remained scoreless until the second half when David Abarca’s two goals gave the Leopards the advantage. The Leones came back and made it 2-1 with a goal by Andy Blanco but the Leopards held on to win it.
